Hi friend! I’m Jenna. I am so glad that you are here! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll stay awhile.
Welcome to my little hideaway on the world wide web. I’m in my thirties, no longer flirty and sort of thriving. Married to my college sweetheart for almost nine years now with two incredible kiddos, a crazy cat, needy dog and we are out here representin’ pure Michigan.
I can probably guess what you are thinking. Yet another mom blogger. You’re right. I am! Isn’t that wonderful? Mom Bloggers are amazing! I am brand new to blogging, but not brand new to motherhood. I would not exactly consider myself a rookie 7 years in, but I am no Dr. Spock either. It is my hope that you will relate with my crazy adventures, laugh with me at the situations only I get myself into,
My world was turned upside town a couple of years ago when a doctor nonchalantly relayed to me my blood work was borderline positive lupus, that I have connective tissue disease and was probably suffering from fibromaylgia. To top that off, I was told in the fall of 2018 I had Ehler-Danlos (Ehler what now?). Mine as well throw is in the partridge in a pear tree. My joints had been sore, my whole body had ached and there was a fatigued I never knew existed. Since then, I have had to re-navigate life as not only as a young adult, but most importantly as a young mother. It has impacted every single day of my life, and even more- my husband & children’s. It is my hope that by sharing some of my struggles in this blog, I will be able to shed some light on the invisible diseases. The impact of medication shaming. How badly it hurts when we have to break another promise – especially to our kids. How much it hurts watching your life go by, and that even though you hate it- you’re too tired to stop it.
This blog is truly a dream come true. However, that is not to say it will be a smooth sailing sing along full of unicorns dancing on rainbows with butterflies in their hair. It will have its fair share of frustration, therapy, gratitude, lost sleep and probably way too many F.R.I.E.N.D.S. references. But, overall, here I hope you find a little rawness, a whole lot of realness, some laughter, maybe even some tears and exactly what it is you are looking for.
Thank you for joining me on this beautiful journey.

WHAT IS WITH THE NAME HONEY AND BLUSH?
Initially, Honey and Blush was going to be called Bebes and Butterflies. A butterfly rash across an individual’s face is a common symptom in those with lupus, and Bebe was to represent my two children, of course. However, one evening, I was speaking to my husband regarding my rash. He was commenting on noticing it and I said something to the effect of “yep – it’s my perfect shade of blush”. The honey stands for the love I share for my children and husband. There you have it- Honey and Blush.
WHY ARE YOU JUGGLING SPOONS?
When I graduated from clown school, it’s what I used for my final performance. Bad joke. No, in all seriousness, there is a well known and commonly used theory in the chronically ill community which gives outsiders a peek into our everyday lives. It is basically budgeting with energy, and energy is represented by spoons. You can read more about it here.
